Final Fantasy: Lost in Japanese

Victory!

Posted by Mike Blitz on July 8th, 2007

victory.jpgOur Devout didn’t get off her heal first, but our Summoner got off her attack before the Cloud of Darkness attacked us. Our Summoner cast a final Tidalwave that shook the Cloud and sent it to oblivion!

Whew! That was amazingly close! I thought we were doomed. But we did it! Woot!

With that, it appears as if we have restored balance to the world. We get a victory tour where all of the five friends get dropped off at their respective homes. All the small back stories get wrapped up. Everything is puddle happy. We’ve done it! We’ve saved the world! The game is complete!

Congratulations!! Cloud of Darkness is certainly not a pushover. If you liked 3, you will surely like 5, when the job system returns. Anyway, which system will you be playing 4 on?

  2. Sami Says:

    Great job, Blitz!

Now off to the fourth game… I’m sure you’ll like the more complex plot of it, although it still isn’t anything compared to the Playstation-titles. ;P

  3. Chocobo Knight Says:

    Yay, ya did it! Congrats!

SuperMateo: Thanks! I wasn’t sure I was going to ever finish this one. Real glad I got the Cloud of Darkness on the first try. I didn’t find the save points in the Crystal Tower, so I would have had to go all the way back to the beginning.

I’ll be playing Final Fantasy 4 on my Nintendo DS. FF4 doesn’t have a job system, though?

Sami: Thanks! I messed with 4 a bit last night, but just enough to watch the opening sequence. It does look a bit more complex than 3, but it’s hard to tell yet.

    Chocobo Knight: Thanks! Whew!

At some point, I still recommend finishing up that side quest.. ;)

Congrats on finishing it up. :) Maybe by the time you start FF5, I’ll be ready to start that, too. ;)

Terpkristin: I did mess around a bit with the game after finishing it up (next post), and think that at some point I’d like to go back and finish up the side quests and stuff.

After so many months on this game, though, I’d like to move on to a new one. I’m disappointed to hear that Final Fantasy 4 doesn’t have a job system, though. It almost seems as if the game will be a step backwards.

    And thanks on the Congrats!

  7. SuperMateo Says:

FF4 has a job system, but the jobs are fixed. The player can not change or choose them.

  8. Edjemaster Says:

Great job on killing the cloud on first try! It took me 4 tries so imagine the frustration!!!!

As they said, the job system in IV is fixed but the caracters and their skills are so varied it never gets redundant. There is also a little cool surprise about that exclusive to the GBA version but I’ll let you discover it…

SuperMateo: Interesting on the FF4 job system. I’m interested to see how I like it.

Edjemaster: Thanks. I was surprised I got the cloud on the first try. I thought I was doomed when I had two party members dead and two at half strength. I’m really looking forward to starting the next game.
