The Goblin Update, Part II

At the end of Final Fantasy II, I thought it would be a fun idea to keep track of how many Goblins I killed while making my way through the Final Fantasy series.
It remains to be seen whether I can do this or not, but I did finally find the bestiary in Final Fantasy 3. The bad news is that we killed a measly 26 Goblins in Final Fantasy 3, which is hardly enough to make a good soup. But anyway, here is the updated tally:
The Goblin Graveyard
Final Fantasy III Goblin Kills
Goblins: 26
Total: 26
Final Fantasy II Goblin Kills
Goblins: 320
Goblin Guards: 207
Goblin Princes: 3
Total: 530
Final Fantasy I Goblin Kills
Goblins: 230
Goblin Guards: 127
Black Goblins: 628
Total: 985
Grand Total: 1,541 Goblins Killed to Date!
Our disappointing performance in Final Fantasy III puts us well behind pace to kill 10,000 Goblins in this entire adventure.

Good luck with Goblin killing. I don’t think there are any goblins in VI-VIII, or in X and XII.

Drake: Yeah, this may be a really silly idea that will have to be abandoned at some point.

Yeah, some FFs don’t have Goblins, and some have very few (like FF3), mainly because they are rare, and are in secret locations (like VII). In FFXII there is no Goblins, but there are a race called Baknamy who most people say are the FFXII equivalents to Goblins as they look like them and use an attack called “Goblin Attack”

Chocobo: Interesting. FF3 had something called “Nokka” as well, which looked the same as the Goblins. There weren’t very many of them, though.

How long until you start playing Final Fantasy IV?

Drake: I think I’ll start posting very soon. I didn’t have time to write a final review of Final Fantasy 3 today, but I actually started playing Final Fantasy IV last night. I hope to make the first post for that game on Friday or Saturday.
