The Four Elemental Lords

When we last left off in our saga of Final Fantasy IV, our heroes were just set to begin a battle with the Four Elemental Lords inside the giant robot that Golbez had summoned on Earth. I’ll pick up the story from that point…
With little fanfare, the battle starts. The four lords come at us one after the other, with no breaks in between. At first I was a bit confused, as they simply change shape in the middle of the fight, so I didn’t know whether I was fighting a different form of the first lord, or a different lord altogether.
By the time the third lord came around, however, I realized what was going on, and that allowed me to free up more of Rydia and Rosa’s magic points. We started pouring on damage. The battle dragged on forever, but with Rosa and FuSoYa casting heals as necessary, we never really seemed to be in danger.
After about fifteen minutes, however, during our fight against Barbariccia, the last lord, things changed dramatically. She cast some sort of massive tornado and instantly all five of our party members were below ten hit points. Crap! Frantically, I tried to heal our party, but before I could Rosa was dead. No!!! I’m doomed, I thought, but just as I had given up hope, Barbariccia faded away to nothingness! The battle was over! We had won!
Not much happened after this. I expected the giant to implode or something dramatic to happen, but that was not to be. It simply appears that the path is now clear to continue on.

Wow, you must have been massively leveled up or with heaps of luck. I was stuck on this battle for AGES.

I make up for it in the next fight…

When I was in this battle, my only strategy was to let Fusoya cast -ga spells of the opposite element of the lord that I was fighting. It was not very nice when one of them was killed, and Fusoya was already preparing the spell, because that practically meant Full-heal for the next lord!

I think the order of the lords in the battle was precisely designed with that purpose!
