Final Fantasy: Lost in Japanese

Sorry for the disappearance the last three days. Got overloaded with work.

Just wanted to put up a quick post detailing the plan for the next couple of weeks…

First, making this site and doing these writeups has been fun enough that I’ve decided to move this site off of blogger and get my own web host. I’ve got an account set up now and am in the process of putting things up. There’s a bit of a learning curve because I’ll be using Word Press for the site, and I have no experience with that software. Still, I’m hoping to have everything up and running on the new site by the end of the month.

Second, I don’t have Final Fantasy 3 yet. Well, actually, I do, but it’s not on the correct continent. It’s at my brother-in-law’s house in Japan. I bought the game about three months ago from a company that doesn’t ship to the US, so I had it shipped to his house. He was supposed to ship it to me a couple of months ago, but for some reason it’s taken him a long time. The last message I got from him was that he would be shipping the game on January 5, but he hasn’t confirmed this yet. I’m trying to figure out what’s going on, as he’s usually very reliable. If I can’ t get it from him in a timely fashion, then I’ll just buy it from somewhere else, but right now a lot of places are sold out or ridiculously expensive. With that shipment of his should also come FF4, FF5, and FF6, and I’ve already got FF7, 8, 9, 10, 10-2, and both of the Advance games, so once the damn shipment gets here, we should be good to go for a long while.

In the meantime, I’m thinking of playing Mystic Quest, which is a short game that sits on the fringe of the series. Supposedly it takes about ten hours to play, which might be perfect timing for the arrival of FF3 regardless of how I get it.

Before that, however, I’ll write a short review of Final Fantasy 2.

While I’m making the site transfer, my posting may get a bit less frequent, more along the lines of every other day, but I’ll do my best to keep people updated as I know more.
