Quick Update…

Posted by Mike Blitz on March 5th, 2008

Got a bit overwhelmed with work this week. I’m hoping to make our next post by Saturday, maybe Friday if things go well.

Sorry for the delay.

Yeah, I saw something like that coming…No problem, take your time! ;)

  2. Mike Blitz Says:

Thanks! I’ve been surprised I’ve missed as few days as I have during January and February. I thought I’d miss a lot more. So overall, I’m pleased with how things have gone.

  3. Jaime Says:

Besides, as you get closer to the end you do need to be sure you can devote time to the game, as boss battles get closer and longer (but not anymore to the level of madness that is the final dungeon of FF3, which was, what, like 9 bosses in a row without saving?).

    POSSIBLE SPOILER:

Not to mention that as the series goes on when you get to the final battles you need to make SURE you have time for both the boss battle AND the ending sequence (FFVI and FFVIII are especially ridiculous in that aspect).

  4. X-Boco Says:

Hurry on back. Sounds like things are getting overwhelming again. Oh well, I’d prefer a decent post after a wait than a rushed post just to be on schedule.

  5. Chocobo Knight Says:

    Yeah, I agree

  6. Edjemaster Says:

I think there’s a problem in the Dark Riders post comments from FF2…

  7. terpkristin Says:

Hmmm looks like Edjemaster’s post sort of wonked up the “Recent Comments” thing. Or maybe it’s just that the “Recent Comments” thing is sorta wonky…

I hope you come back “soonish,” I’m looking forward to you getting to FFVI. It’s my favorite in the series, and I was thinking of playing it alongside you, but you still have to finish IV and start and finish V. That should give me plenty of time to get through FFVII: Crisis Core and some other crap I’ve been meaning to finish up.

  8. Drake Says:

And he’s playing Mystic Quest, don’t forget. I want to get Crisis Core, and while I heard it had a decent story, I also have heard some bad things about the gameplay.

  9. X-Boco Says:

    Lost Odyssey for the win.

  10. Drake Says:

Lost Odyssey is just plain awesome.

  11. X-Boco Says:

This is turning out to be an extremely long week haha

  12. Edjemaster Says:

Some weeks are just longer than others…Good thing I finally bought a PSP with FF7 Crisis Core and 4 other games to keep me entertained! :P

  13. Drake Says:

I still don’t know if I should pick up Crisis Core, I hear it’s awful! I -do- have War Of The Lions, though, and that game is awesome. Let me know if Crisis Core is any good.

  14. terpkristin Says:

I’m enjoying Crisis Core. Yes there are parts of it that drive me nuts. But all in all, it’s a pretty solid game. What reviews have you read that said it’s awful? Or, rather, what have you read that is so “awful” about it in terms of various aspects of the game? In the first bit of this week’s Joystiq podcast, they talk about the game and I agree with a lot of what they say. I don’t think either host that’s playing has gotten to what seems to be the universally hated part of the game, but it’s only one isolated part. http://www.joystiq.com/2008/04/04/joystiq-podcast-044-le-joystique-edition/

Also, in the latest episode of CAG Foreplay, shipwreck discusses the game, too. He’s farther in the game than the Joystiq kids and he talks about the universally hated part… http://www.cheapassgamer.com/archives/cag-foreplay-39-are-you-up-to-the-task-4208.php

  15. Edjemaster Says:

Crisis Core is quite easy if you do the side missions. I’m at the final dungeon now (well feels like it anyway) and I remember dying once and I had a Re-raise activated. It’s worth playing for the story alone and I think the game is fun!

The Nibelheim part make me want a PS3 remake even more!

  16. terpkristin Says:

I definitely agree with what Edjemaster said. The side quests are a lot of fun, so I’ve done a ton of them, which has made me fairly overpowered for the main story line. That’s not a gripe for me, so much, though, since I tend to grind in FF games anyway while looking for all the ultimate weapons, etc. ;)
