Final Fantasy: Lost in Japanese

FuSoYa

Posted by Mike Blitz on February 29th, 2008

fusoya.jpgWell, that was different. The older man goes by the name of FuSoYa, and he is benevolent. Instead of trying to beat us silly, he tells us a story. Neat.

The story gets a bit complicated, but these appear to be the important details. FuSoYa is the guardian of the sleeping Moon People. Golbez has collected the Crystals in order to awaken some giant on Earth and destroy everything. And Cecil is apparently a Moon Child. I’m leaving off quite a bit here, and missed a few pieces in the Japanese, but I think those are the highlights.

The bottom line, however, is that FuSoYa joins our party to head back to Earth and battle a massive giant.

Gameplaywise, FuSoYa is basically a copy of Tellah with a useless HP regeneration-ability. But the fact that he knows every magic spell possible is awesome by itself. ;D

  2. Drake Says:

And he actually has enough MP to cast Meteor! Did that guy mention anything about Cecil’s relatives?

  3. Big D Says:

Yeah, did FuSoYa say anything about Cecil’s family?

    Sami,
I never expected to get a completely new member of our party at this point in the game. I figured that we’d run into Yang again somehow, or perhaps Cid or Edward. But I never figured that we’d hit yet another new character.

    Drake, Big D,
Yes, I got a bit confused with some of it, but FuSoYa talked about how some other race of people came from another planet to the moon, and that Cecil apparently is the son of some of these people.

Also, I’m going on memory from a late night gaming session, and I didn’t feel like I actually got all of it, so this may be a bit garbled, of course.
