Cid Previa

cid_previa.jpgAs we sit in our prison cell and ponder out fate, one of our walls explode, and inside walks the Final Fantasy V version of Cid. Apparently he was trying to blow an escape route out of his cell but ended up merely blowing an entrance into our cell. We half listen to his story about being the blame for the destruction of the crystals and such, but to be honest, I’m mostly wondering how I’m going to get out of this cell.

Shortly, our answer comes. An official calls Cid from his prison to help save the Fire Crystal, which apparently is developing some cracks despite Cid turning off his machine. Cid agrees to help, but only if we join the cause. With little choice, the official agrees and once again we are free. Cid tells us to make preparations to help, and then he bounds off to get his fire ship operational again.

We wander around the castle a bit, and learn that the Queen is missing. Eventually we wander over to the shops in Karnak. Here we finally are able to purchase some weapon and armor upgrades. We’re short on cash for the magic spells however, so we decide to do a bit of random fighting to build up enough money to upgrade our spell collection. We head out of town and start sweeping the countryside for monsters. This time the encounters go much better; our armor and weapon upgrades make all the difference in the world.

After a bit of this, our party gets a bit sleepy, so I call it a day for the moment. We’ll continue building up some cash for spells tomorrows.

Status: Grinding for Magic Spells.
