Ah, I didn't know Aspir was bugged because when I played FFIV I wasn't aware of its awesomeness (probably because of the bug). I'm currently playing FFVI, and there Aspir is wonderful! When used by a character with high Magic stats on a monster with lots of MP, it can replenish your MP pool in 2 or 3 castings.

FFVI SPOILER
For instance instead of using the Celestriad to reduce MP cost, I like to use the Soul of Thamasa (aka Gem Box) to get Doublecast and in each turn one of the spells is Aspir. That way I never run out of MP and when the battle gets near its end I simply pummel the enemy with double spells :)

Jaime,
Rydia has Aspir already, but I can't seem to get the spell to work correctly. And when enemies cast it on us, it doesn't seem to be working either. Every time, except for once, it only absorbs 1 point. Maybe I've targeted incorrect enemies, but I can't figure out why it's not working for enemies when they cast it on Rosa or Rydia.

Hero of Lore,
Ah, so it was a time limit? Wow. I was very lucky then. Rosa cast Reflect on Cecil the round before hers ran out. If I hadn't done that, I would have lost.

Drake,
Heh. Nah, I just really liked that Bahamut image, and the next closest one in terms of quality is pretty far down the line.

Yeah, I don't think I've used reflect at all, in any of the games, until this battle. There just didn't seem to be a battle where I needed it.

Maybe that bug with Aspir is what I'm seeing as well. But it's just not for Rydia, it's for anyone who casts Aspir. It just seems to be absorbing 1 MP. Which is a waste, or course. I'll keep my eye on it, but so far it hasn't been helpful at all for Rydia.

Running out of funds for images?

I had no idea that Reflect protected you from Megaflare! I also had no idea that it just disappeared after a few turns. I've never had any real use for reflect in the series, except for in Final Fantasy VI and Final Fantasy X.

Congrats on earning the most kickass summon spell in the entire series, again. Warning:If you get used to having him now, you'll feel really sad that you don't have him in the start of Final Fantasy V (I actually don't know if he's even in that game).

And Aspir, I think that's the spell that lets you drain MP, for Rydia was bugged in most U.S. versions of Final Fantasy IV, which means it's probaly bugged in the Japanese version, and won't get you even enough MP to cast a -ra spell. On the other hand, you can easily purchase ethers from the cave of the moon dwellers here on the Moon to quickly replenish MP. Also, if you have any of the Silver Apples (or something like that, no idea of it's Japanese counterpart) these raise a chartacter's MP for good. This is great for Rydia, as Rosa never seems to run out of MP (as long as your a professional potion user).

Oh, it's expensive, but (don't quote me on this) I think Rydia learns Aspir at some point, so you can imagine the fun ;)

X-Boco,
Yup, that went exactly according to plan! :)

Windark,
Yup, I can vouch for it working on the one party member. The little curved shield came up and everything. And thanks. Bahamut looks like a cool spell. But it's a bit expensive (60 mp).

I didn't even know that Megaflare was reflectable! I thought that Reflect doesn't work on spells that target more than one party member?
Congrats for getting the most bad-ass summon spell in the game!
